5 Secrets To Making Money On The Internet

A properly designed web site leads your reader to do something. Depending on what that "something" is, determines the form and function of each web page. This article assumes you want your reader to buy a product. Even if you don't have a functioning web page now, or if you have one that needs to improve its sales conversion ratios, this article will give you 5 easy steps that will help you design your web pages and enjoy better performance. This article is a condensed version of a much longer report, that is available for free at my website.

1 - Make use of different colors and text styles. Using only black text and one graphic font will bore your readers. They just won't get excited about with what you're telling them. If they're not excited, they're not buying. By combining bright vibrant colors with various text sizes and font styles you will massively affect your readers. It makes the page easier to read and you can highlight the important information and subtly point the readers eyes to the sales points and the buy now button. Remember most people don't read a web page, they scan it. So make their scanning more effective by making your sales points the most interesting part of the page. Color and style will help you do that.

2 - Give people a reason to buy - today. Everybody loves a "deal" and people on the internet are no different. You have to provide more value and one way to do that is add a "free bonus" or a "one time offer" or a discount that expires in 12 hours or something that sweetens the deal. Why does an appliance dealer advertise the "red tag special?" Because it works. Obviously using any, or all, of these offers won't result in a 100% sales conversion. Nothing will do that. But if you combine these ideas, you will get more buyers and make more money.

3 - People who don't trust you will never buy from you. Everybody is nervous about being scammed on the internet. You must gain their trust right away. There are many ways to do this. For example, have a "contact me" button that's easy to find and if someone contacts you get right back to them. Another method is the "happy customer testimonial." If you sell an acne cream and you have a quote from someone who used your product, such as "I tried Zits-Be-Gone and in just two weeks my acne was a bad memory" signed Trina Teenager you will be amazed at how this one change can improve your sales conversions.

4 - Familiarity breeds trust. Have your web page display other brands that people know and trust. For example, offer Paypal or Google Checkout as payment options. Join the Internet Better Business Bureau, or get a security certificate with a prominent logo. All these things will help people believe your statements about your product and will encourage them to buy from you.

5 - Micro-test anything and everything. Micro-testing and split-testing allow you to see what's effective and what isn't. The concept of testing is crucial to your success. Fortunately, its not hard to do. Simply changing one word in your home page and sending half your potential customers to that page may result in a huge improvement in conversions. But you won't know unless you do the split test.
